It’s a strange idea to do a commentary of a commentary or, perhaps better, a critique of a commentary but this is what these studies were intended to be. However, it was obvious that I also needed to address the Scriptures directly and additional web pages were added - normally after my treatment of North’s book - if I was unable to include a Biblical exposition with the other notes.
North frequently takes one or two points within a Biblical chapter and expounds them to extremes that don’t appear in the original Scriptures so that, many times, the discussion of his chapter isn't always in keeping with the main thrust of the subject matter which inspired it.
The Chapter and Page numbers refer to North’s book and not to the Biblical book of Leviticus. The bracketed titles are mine and solely chosen to indicate to the person who has not read Gary North’s book, the approximate subject matter.
These articles should be able to be understood even if Gary North’s book has not been read - I have tried to use comments on his text to lay a foundation for the interpretation of Leviticus rather than simply to comment on his teaching.
I must give a personal word of thanks to a brother named Vincent who has gone through these notes as one who has never read North’s book - the reason being that should you, the reader, be in a similar situation, you can be assured that the notes should be self-explanatory and not presume upon your knowledge of the original work.
Excluding the Introduction to this section, there are 9 chapters in North’s book on Leviticus chapter 25 and 3 each on Leviticus chapters 26 and 27, making 15 in all. Although I intended completing a critique of the entire book, I decided that to concentrate on such a large volume of writing was too time consuming and so put it to one side.
However, having been in the process of revising these notes almost four years on, I decided to include short expositions of the last three Levitical chapters to bring these studies to some sort of satisfactory conlusion.
